Capital Community Center
Located in Mount Rainier, Maryland,
the Capital Community Center is the oldest center for SGI activities in
the country. Members in suburban Maryland and nearby DC use this center
for World Peace Gongyos, introductory meetings, seminars and special events;
for the purchase of books and altar supplies; and many other activities.
The Capital Community Center is currently
open on Saturday mornings and all day on Sundays. It also may open at various
times during the week as activities are planned there.
The Community Center bookstore is
open on Sundays from 11 am to 1:30 pm only.

Directions:
From downtown
Washington, drive out Rhode Island Avenue to Eastern Avenue.
Go left on Eastern to 4603.
From Prince
Georges County, take Route 1 (Rhode Island Avenue) south towards
Washington, then turn right on Eastern Avenue. Continue to 4603.
From the Capital
Beltway, take the U.S. Route 1 exit south through College Park,
towards Washington DC. Then go right on Eastern Avenue to 4603.
If you are using public transportation,
take the MetroRail
Red Line to the Brookland-Catholic University stop, then transfer to
the R4 Queens Chapel Road bus. Alight at the intersection of Michigan and
Eastern Avenues and walk down Eastern to 4603. Or take the G8 Avondale
bus from Brookland and alight at Eastern and Varnum, just a few steps from
the Community Center.

DC Culture Center
The brand new Washington DC Culture
Center is the newest building in SGI-USA. This "palace of peace" is located
on Embassy Row (Massachusetts Ave.) in Washington, DC. Members from Washington
DC and nearby Virginia and Maryland use this center for activities. Information

From Route
95:
Take 95 North
toward Baltimore (pass exit for BWI airport, exit 47A). Take exit 50A-Caton
Avenue (sign says 50A South Washington Blvd.). Bear right onto Caton
Avenue. Turn right at first traffic light onto Joh Avenue. Travel about
1/2 mile then take a left at light onto Benson Avenue. Continue on Benson
Avenue about 1.2 miles, which ends at the intersection of Sulphur Spring
Rd. Continue straight through traffic light across Sulphur Spring Road
to Arbutus Business Park. Address is 1583.
From Route
295:
Take 295 North.
Pass exits to Columbia and BWI Airport. After seeing signs for 95, continue
on 295 for 1/4 mile to exit 695 North Towson. Continue on 695 for 2 miles
to exit 10 (Washington Blvd. Alternate Route 1). From exit 10, turn
left onto Washington Blvd. Travel 0.1 mile, then turn right onto Sulphur
Spring Rd. Travel 1/2 mile then turn left into Arbutus Business Park.
Northern Virginia Community
Center
The Northern Virginia Community Center
serves members in Virginia Region, a large area which includes Alexandria,
Dulles, McLean, Sterling, Reston, Blacksburg, Dale City, Fredericksburg,
Charlottesville, and Shenandoah. Basically, it covers the whole state except
for the Easternmost part around Richmond and Norfolk, and the Arlington
section which is connected with Washington DC Region.

395:
Take Rt. 395
South toward Richmond. Rt. 395 turns into Rt. 95 South around Springfield/Franconia
exits. Take exit 167 to Backlick/Fullerton Rd. After exit, you will be
on Backlick Rd. At first traffic light, take a right onto Fullerton Road.
At third traffic light, take a right. There will be a sign for Fullerton
Square on a brick wall. Take this right up a driveway until you see the
Community Center.
From Route
95N:
Take Rt. 95
South toward Richmond. Stay to your right when signs for Rt. 495 appear.
Continue on Rt. 495 towards Northern Virginia. Stay on Rt. 495 until exit
to Rt. 95 South towards Richmond. Once on Rt. 95, take exit 167 to Backlick/Fullerton
Rd. After exit, you will be on Backlick Rd. At first traffic light, take
a right onto Fullerton Road. At third traffic light, take a right. There
will be a sign for Fullerton Square on a brick wall. Take this right up
a driveway until you see the Community Center.
